It was July 25, 2024, and I was texting one of my best mates about photos he’d posted from a recent hiking trip in Southern Utah. I replied, “Looks like you’re hitting some pretty sweet spots down there in SoTah.”
Not long after sending that message, the wheels started turning. Had I just stumbled onto something? I’ve always loved Utah, and I’d wanted to build a clothing brand since I was a kid designing shoes in grade school. For the first time, it felt like I was really onto something.
Over the years, countless names and brand ideas had crossed my mind, but NorTah and SoTah felt different. This was more than just a name. To me, they represented my roots — and the incredible places I’d experienced throughout Northern and Southern Utah. They became a clever, fun way to connect people to those places.
Since college, I’ve branded my art and design work under the name PSAND (Patrick Stauffer Artistic Nifty Design). As we moved into apparel, my wife and I redefined what PSAND stood for. Today, it represents Premium Style And Nifty Design.
